National meeting held to commemorate 116th March 8 International Women's Day

A national meeting took place at the People's Palace of Culture on the 8th to commemorate the 116th March 8 International Women's Day.
It was attended by Ri Il Hwan, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ju Chang Il, Secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, Kim Su Gil, Chief Secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, Jon Hyang Sun, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea, officials of the Central Committee of the women's union and exemplary women officials, women labour innovators and women's union members in Pyongyang.
Also on hand were women of foreign diplomatic missions in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Ju Chang Il made a report.
He said that the noble view of life of the Korean women, who are extremely faithful to their families and society and devote their all to the revolution and the country, and the tradition continuously carried forward by them were formed and developed in the embrace of the great Party, and went on to say.
The Korean women, who had been subjected to humiliation and contempt as victims of all sorts of social evils in the thousands of year-long history, emerged as masters of building a new country, firmly united as one under the banner of patriotism with the same rights with men. It was the fundamental change made in the destiny of the Korean women.
The dignity and position of the Korean women are shining more brightly on the platform of respect and honour in the era of comprehensive national prosperity led by Kim Jong Un. It is the fortune and greatest privilege of the Korean women to enjoy a dignified and happy life in the embrace of Kim Jong Un who takes care of the destiny and future of the entire Korean people with his great trust and love.
The Korean women have performed remarkable feats true to the will of the Party over the past five years when a new turning point for comprehensive national prosperity was made through arduous struggle, the reporter said and called on all women to fulfil their duty and responsibility in the historic struggle for realizing the ideal of building a prosperous and powerful country at an early date.
