Pyongyang, December 16 (KCNA) -- Modern regional-industry factories have appeared in Taegwan County, North Phyongan Province of the DPRK, adorning more brilliantly this historic year for the conclusion of the five-year plan decided at the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea with epochal achievements and sweeping the whole country with great joy and emotion.

Wonderful light-industry bases, which made another leap forward in architectural style, practicality, efficiency and level of automation and scientification, were newly built in the remote mountain county in just more than 290 days after the start of their ground-breaking in February.

An inauguration ceremony of the regional-industry factories in Taegwan County for the Regional Development 20×10 Policy was held on December 15.

Attending it were Jo Chun Ryong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Choe Yong Man, chairman of the North Phyongan Provincial People's Committee, officials and working people in the province and county, employees of the factories and soldier-builders.

Jo Chun Ryong addressed the ceremony.

The speaker referred to the fact that Taegwan County with poor economic foundation came to develop its economy through the light-industry bases capable of producing quality necessities and specialities with the trademarks of the county.

Saying that the comprehensive changes of regions are the motive power for building a civilized and prosperous state and its real picture, he called upon all the participants to make a dynamic advance towards the completion of the great programme on regional development and the victory of the cause of Korean-style socialism.

Ri Myong Jin, chief secretary of the Taegwan County Committee of the WPK, made a speech.

He expressed his firm resolution to become a true servant going through in the vanguard muddy roads and thorny fields for the people in the county, aware that the successes in implementing the WPK's new regional development policy are guaranteed by officials' transparent view on the people, and thus turn the county into a paradise full of happy singing to be envied by the people across the country.

Jo Chun Ryong cut the inauguration tape together with owners of the new factories.

Confetti of inauguration fluttered and a large number of balloons soared higher in the sky amid the cheers of celebration.

An art performance was given, adding to the pleasure of the participants celebrating the event witnessed in the county for the first time.

Fireworks were set off, picturing the future of Taegwan County to further prosper in the new era of change under the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un . -0-
