The Korean people follow the Workers' Party of Korea, calling it a motherly party making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people.

The WPK has served as a mass party of the working people, flying the flag with a hammer, a sickle and a writing brush on it, since its founding.

The sacred history of our Party after its eighth congress further emphasized the features of the WPK with making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people as its mode of existence.

In March 2020, a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Pyongyang General Hospital, a modern medical service centre, was held at the best place on the bank of the Taedong River.

That day the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK, said this construction was an important and worthwhile work our Party had long planned and aspired to do.

Along with the day, long-aspired work became a new word borne by our Party.

The Second Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee declared the construction of 50,000 flats in the city of Pyongyang to provide the citizens with more stable and civilized living conditions. The Third Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee proclaimed it as the supreme desire of our Party and state to create better conditions for the upbringing of the children, the future of the country. The Tenth Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea announced the "Regional Development 20×10 Policy" to provide the people across the country with an affluent and civilized new life in a matter of ten years.

Seeing the issues discussed and decided on at major meetings of the Party and the state come true, the people kept the word of long-aspired work deeper in their hearts as the one meaning all the undertakings that the WPK, a genuine people's party, plans and carries out while enforcing the people-first politics.

As the WPK cherishes the ardent desire for the people and the will to make selfless, devoted efforts for them, it is the highest honour for the Party to work hard for the people.

Thanks to the motherly Party which calls on the people suffering from misfortunes and hardships before others and goes closer to the people whenever they face difficulties, the Korean people are confident of their happy future, full of optimism despite the trials.

In its warm hand coming first amidst the devastating disaster and its care keeping the people from cold rain, not only those in the afflicted areas but all others had a better understanding of the ardent love of Kim Jong Un and inscribed the true features of our motherly Party deep in their minds.

Motherly Party is not a word formulated by a thinker or a politician. It is a peculiar honorary title and name given by the Korean people to the WPK which finds more jobs to realize their dreams.

That's why the Korean people always share their destiny with the WPK, the great mother.
