The inauguration ceremony of the Kusong City Hospital in North Phyongan Province was held on December 13.

The hospital is an advanced healthcare centre that demonstrates the will of the Workers’ Party of Korea to transform and strengthen the regions and the steady development to be achieved by the overall public health and highlights the meaning of 2025, the first year of the public health revolution.

At the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee late last year, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made sure that the hospital was among the healthcare facilities to be built in 2025 on a pilot basis in cities and counties. And he visited the construction site several times to give energetic guidance to the project. He told officials that it is essential to train reliable technical forces necessary for the assembly of equipment as the hospital, unlike dwelling houses or industrial buildings, is a functional building in which the terminals of the infrastructure, medical equipment and appliances and all other things should be technically compatible with one another. The public health revolution which is being carried on in parallel with the nationwide revolution in regional industry is the most urgent task which will give fresh vitality to our socialist public health, he said, calling for associating the work with the absolute principle and the view on service of our state which subordinates and orients everything to the promotion of the people’s health and wellbeing.

The Kusong City Hospital came to be built in less than a year as a hospital where all systems and elements are combined in a scientific, practical and artistic way in terms of functionality, convenience and aesthetic beauty.

At the inauguration ceremony, he looked round several places of the hospital and said satisfactorily that another perfect hospital was built and its construction was flawlessly successful.

Regarding the construction of the city and county hospitals, he noted, as an essential and most important task for implementing the regional development policy and powerfully pushing ahead with it are the most right option that our Party and state entirely responsible for the lives and health of the people should not delay even a moment nor have any right to put off and the way they should surely take. He expressed his firm resolve and will to build modern hospitals in 20 cities and counties every year and thus build solid foundations for the country’s public health in the near future.
