The Workers' Party of Korea has vigorously led the struggle of the Korean people for a new victory in socialist construction since its Eighth Congress.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, strengthened and developed the Party into the one that makes selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people and energetically led the cause for the comprehensive development of socialism with his uncommon ideological and theoretical wisdom, outstanding leadership ability and gigantic revolutionary practice.

Into the Party Making Selfless, Devoted Efforts for the Good of the People

At the Eighth Congress of the WPK held in January 2021, Kim Jong Un stressed the need to switch the Party work to people-friendly and reality-friendly work true to the Party's idea of "The people are God" in order to bring about a radical innovation in the Party work in line with the situation in which the Korean revolution has entered a period of new development, a period of a leap forward. The more truly the people-friendly and reality-friendly characters are applied to Party work, the closer the whole Party will get to fact and truth and the higher the fighting efficiency of our Party will become, he said.

On October 17, 2022, Kim Jong Un visited the Central Cadres Training School of the Workers' Party of Korea and gave a historic commemorative lecture. In the lecture he clarified that the political building, organizational building, ideological building, discipline building and work style building are the orientation of our Party building in the new era.

Presenting the 5-point Party building line in the new era, he stressed again that it should be the mode of existence and revolution of our Party to deepen the people's trust in it by deifying the people and serving them devotedly, purify its climate and attain higher goals with the might of single-hearted unity of the Party and the people.

In the concluding speech he made at the Sixth Conference of Cell Secretaries of the WPK, Kim Jong Un said the work of strengthening Party cells is the foundation of the building up and unity of the entire Party and the main key to accelerating socialist construction, and clarified important tasks for the Party cells.

At the Second Conference of Secretaries of Primary Committees of the WPK, he said the basic attitude and character of the secretaries of primary Party committees desired by the Party are to be infinitely honest to the people, regard the hardships for them as their natural endowments and greatest pride and promote their convenience and living to the maximum by working themselves to the bone sparing no pains.

At the First Short Course of Chief Secretaries of City and County Party Committees, he said all the chief secretaries of the city and county Party committees should bring about tangible changes and successes welcomed by the people and actually felt by them and underscored the need to possess the spirit of unconditionally serving the people.

Under his leadership the organizational ability, fighting efficiency and activity of the Party organizations at all levels of the entire Party have been extraordinarily strengthened and the climate of giving top priority to the interests of the people and making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people has been more thoroughly established at the Party organizations over the past five years.

Simultaneous Development of the Capital City and Provinces

The Eighth Congress of the WPK presented it as an important task to build 50,000 flats in the city of Pyongyang and build 10,000 flats every year for the purpose.

Kim Jong Un made such bold decision in order to fully solve the housing problem of capital citizens.

In March 2021, he took part in the groundbreaking ceremony for building 10,000 flats in the city of Pyongyang and said that building 50,000 modern flats in the capital city of Pyongyang is the work of long-cherished desire prepared by the Party with great determination to provide the capital citizens with more stable and civilized living conditions.

He attended the groundbreaking ceremonies for building 10,000 flats every year, examined many blueprints and visited construction sites to guide the construction to be completed on the highest level. And he participated in inaugural ceremonies of dwelling houses every year to cut inauguration tape and looking at the happy people, he hardened his will to bring earlier a better future.

Under his leadership, non-repetitive large architectural groups with the formative and artistic value, modernity and popular character fully ensured have been built in this country every year since 2022 and April witnessed the people's removal into new houses.

A new era of regional change has opened over the past five years.

The city of Samjiyon underwent a tremendous change, the Komdok area was changed wonderfully into a mountain gorge town, and rural houses reflecting the new aspect of rural civilization of Korean style were built across the country and modern rural cities in flood-hit areas in a little over four months.

The era of regional change witnessed the construction of regional-industry factories in all parts of the country, the Pyongyang General Hospital, the mother base of modernized public health, the Kangdong County Hospital for the "Regional Development 20×10 Policy", a modern regional hospital, the Sinpho City Offshore Farm, the Ragwon County Offshore Farm and the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area.

At the Tenth Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly, Kim Jong Un clarified the "Regional Development 20×10 Policy" to further improve the elementary material and cultural living standards of the people across the country within tenyears by pushing ahead with the construction of modern regional-industry factories in 20 cities and counties every year. Later, he saw that the construction of three essential projects of building modern publichealth facilities, leisure complexes and grain management facilities was added to the regional development policy.

And he called at the construction sites time and again and energetically guided the work to complete them as monumental creations that can give substantial benefits to the people.

As regards the fact that the WPK is enforcing the policy of giving top priority to the interests of the people and working for its implementation, Doctor Ri Yong Chol, Section Chief of the Academy of Social Sciences, said:

"The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said it is the state-building strategy of the WPK to consolidate the foundation by strengthening regions and make greater successes on its basis.

The WPK regards it as its greatest desire to eliminate the century-old backwardness of the countryside and the laggardness of regions as early as possible and make all people enjoy an affluent and civilized life."

Researcher Ri Hye Suk said:

"There are many political parties and states in the world. But no precedents could be found in other countries but ours that has carried on the projects of building dwelling houses, regional-industry factories, public health facilities and leisure complexes in the capital city and the provinces which are essential for improving the material and cultural life of the people while putting off the construction or remodelling of buildings of the Party and state organs.

I am sure that it is the policy and its perfect implementation, which can be enforced only by the WPK giving top priority to the interests of the people."

"We Are the Happiest in the World!"

The children's laughter and singing have become louder over the past five years.

All the children across the country between 7 months after their birth and 6 years old are growing up healthily while eating dairy products every day.

A van carrying dairy products runs even for a child in hospital.

A solid foundation for the production of dairy goods has been laid in the country.

Such reality is a fruition of the childcare policy of the WPK clarified by Kim Jong Un.

At the Third Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee, Kim Jong Un saw that the childcare policy of the Party was formulated, stressing that no revolutionary work is more important than bringing up the children, future of the country, healthily and it is the most important policy and greatest desire of the Party and the state to provide them with better conditions for upbringing even by spending a colossal sum of money.

Official Ri Chun Il at the Ministry of Public Health said the childcare policy of the WPK is the one and only policy in the world, and continued:

"The childcare policy of the WPK is to supply the children with dairy products and other nourishing foods at the state expense.

There are many countries in the world but nowhere can be found such a country as ours in which the state takes care of all the children with responsibility for their nutrition administration while supplying dairy products to them free of charge."

The work for the students and pupils has become the eternal state policy of the DPRK and factories producing school uniforms, shoes, bags and things have been built in Pyongyang and provinces to provide them with new school uniforms, shoes, bags and things on a normal basis.

Official Kim Jin Myong at the Ministry of External Economic Relations said there is no end in the care of the WPK for the students and pupils, and continued:

"Every country in the world has students and pupils and is said to be paying attention to their studies. Only in our country, however, the state provides, with full responsibility, the conditions for the studies of the students and pupils such as school uniforms, things, bags and shoes, I think.

It needs a colossal sum of money for a student to finish the courses at the stage of higher education through the stage of general education.

The greater difficulties it faces, the greater sincerity the WPK shows to the posterity and the Party is hastening a bright future by dint of the love."

In 2024, Kim Jong Un showed special love and affection to the students and children in the flood-hit areas.

According to the special measures taken by him when he visited dangerous places in flooded areas, nearly 700 kindergarten children and over 4,600 schoolchildren received recuperation and education at the April 25 Hostel in the capital city of Pyongyang.

At that time, world media commented: "Leader Kim Jong Un inspected an afflicted area immediately after it was hit by flood and commanded rescue operations. And he took measures to bring the flood victims to Pyongyang and let their children continue study and visited a classroom where the children were studying. Even developed countries cannot do like that." "I can understand now why the children as well as the adults of Korea shed tears when they see their leader. It is clear that leader Kim Jong Un is in the hearts of the entire people."

Indeed, the five years after the Eighth Party Congress are those of historic journey in which the climate of the WPK, which gives top priority to the interests of the people and makes selfless, devoted efforts for them, was clearly demonstrated.
