The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un took part in the inauguration ceremony of the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm on October 10, 2022.

He cut the inauguration tape in person, saying the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm is a gift the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea prepared with determination and presented to the people in South Hamgyong Province when the country was in greatest difficulty. And he looked round the greenhouses with pleasure, which had been put on a highly automatic footing.

He gave specific instructions on a number of issues arising in the management and operation of the greenhouses including the issue on planting fruit trees in the spaces between the greenhouses and the issue on putting the greenhouse vegetable production on a highly scientific basis. When he entered a greenhouse, he found a lot of green peppers growing there. It was a gratifying scene which could be witnessed only at the large-scale greenhouse farm.

Looking at the scene, Kim Jong Un beamed all over his face, saying it is really great.

As a matter of fact, he paid deep concern to pepper widely used by the Korean people for their diet from olden times. One day, he informed officials of a common knowledge of estimating the sharp taste of peppers. The other day, he stressed the need to do good pepper farming and make various kinds of processed products with pepper so that they could be used for the people's diet.

After a while, Kim Jong Un stepped forward and had a good look at the appetizing peppers hanging in abundance on every plant.

He said with great satisfaction that they are heavily laden with peppers. And he added that there was a hot pepper strain called "Sokhu pepper" in South Hamgyong Province in the past and underscored the need to plant such kind of pepper and different other vegetables in the greenhouse.

Sokhu pepper was one of the pepper strains widely cultivated in South Hamgyong Province from long ago. This strain was widely used for the diet of the local people as it has a good taste and sweet flavour.

But its cultivation area began to be reduced gradually from the mid-1990s when the country had a hard time. Sokhu pepper became vague in the people's memories along with the lapse of time.

Kim Jong Un, however, remembered it which had disappeared even in the memories of the natives.

He always thinks of the people and makes painstaking efforts to provide them with better things.

The Sokhu pepper which had been nearly extinct was reborn as a vegetable strain indispensable for the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm thanks to him who knows no satisfaction in the work for increasing the wealth of the people.
