The five years since the historic Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea was held in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea were the days of excitement when the revolutionary enthusiasm of the Korean young people was further intensified than ever before, making the whole country a living stage of the youth.

Instructor Om Chol Myong at the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League said the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un, in his historic letter sent to the Tenth Congress of the Youth League on April 29, 2021, pointed out that there are no revolutionary young people like ours, who, acceptingdifficulties and trials with pleasure, are faithful to the call of theirmotherland, who are honest to their society and collectives and who work with devotionfor the future, and continued:

"Today, the high enthusiasm of our young people for volunteering is a precious result of the great idea of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un on attaching importance to the youth, who holds up all the young people in the era and history as performers of feats of heroic youth, heroes of the times and warriors of accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche."

It is the intention of our Party to bring up the young people as wonderful successors to the revolution and pillars to shoulder the future of the country, not as fragile flowers in greenhouse, by tempering them like steel in the furnace of great struggle and the vibrant realities.

On the occasion of the Youth Day in August 2021, Kim Jong Un said those young people, who left their native homes with the same dream and ideal of supporting the Party's intention and settled in the workplaces, to which others do not dare to go, and in other places strange to them, are a great pride of socialist Korea and source of its great strength as well as young patriots of our era.

Elated by his great love and trust, the young people volunteer to work at coal mines, farms and grand construction sites to glorify their youth.

In addition, those young people who had volunteered to work at the most difficult construction sites including that of Jonwi Street in the capital city and at the rehabilitation sites in North Phyongan Province are now working at the construction site of the Wihwa Island area.

In January 2026 Kim Jong Un visited the construction site of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm and congratulated the young builders on the New Year, saying; the imprints you have left and the exploits you have performed will live long on this miraculous island, which encapsulates the level of development of your motherland that prospers day after day, and your proud creation and growth will be recorded in your autobiographies and the annals of history of the youth movement of our country.

Om Chol Myong said the position of the young people and the coordinates of their life should always be the place to which the Party calls, and continued:

"It is the desire of our young people to live proudly not as enjoyers, but as creators on this land permeated with the blood and sweat of the former generations.

The most difficult and challenging posts to which the Party calls are the eternal address of our young people."
