Pyongyang, February 10 (KCNA) -- Grand construction began in Hwaphyong, Phyonggang, Riwon, Myonggan and Samsu counties of the DPRK to build regional-industry factories, hospitals, leisure complexes and offshore farm as another valuable assets for promoting the regional economic development and the people's living standards.
Ground-breaking ceremonies took place on February 9.
Present there were Ri Il Hwan, Ri Hi Yong and Choe Tong Myong, secretaries of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Hyong Sik, department director of the WPK Central Committee, chief secretaries of provincial Party committees, officials in the relevant provinces and counties, working people, service personnel of the People's Army and shock brigade members.
Speakers at the ceremonies said that the revolution for regional development has entered a new high stage under the outstanding and experienced guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who has opened up an era of transformation, the greatest ever since the founding of the nation, regarding it as the supreme principle of activities of the Party and the state to actualize the ideal of the people.
Proving the truthfulness and vitality of the regional revolution guided by the WPK, light industrial factories, hospitals and leisure complexes will spring up in Hwaphyong, Phyonggang, Myonggan and Samsu counties and a modern offshore farm will be built in Riwon County, they noted.
Saying that regional development will bring bigger transformation and the vigorous advance of the country toward a rosy future will be accelerated under the leadership of Kim Jong Un , they called upon all the people to dedicate their patriotic strength and enthusiasm to the prosperity of the country.
Then commanding officers of the 124th regiments of the Korean People's Army and the South Hamgyong provincial shock brigade made speeches.
They expressed the determination to fulfill their honourable mission as creators of the people's happiness and true servants for the people in the new year campaign for regional transformation to live up to the deep trust and loving care shown by the Party Central Committee.
Servicepersons and shock brigade members launched the construction, full of fervent zeal to demonstrate the valiant spirit of the revolutionary army and the mettle of Koreans in the drive for carrying out the far-sighted plan of the Party Central Committee promoting the historic cause of regional transformation. -0-
