One day in January 2009, Chairman Kim Jong Il dropped by a family of a newly-wed couple of discharged soldiers on his inspection tour of the Wonsan Youth Power Station.
He warmly acknowledged the greeting of the couple and stepped into the room. Seeing lumps of fermented soybean hanging in rows on the wall, he wore a bright smile and appreciated them, saying it is a spectacle that can only be seen in the countryside and this is just a socialist beauty.
He told the hostess that only with salt she may make soy sauce as well from fermented soybean and if her family makes good soy sauce from fermented soybean he would like to stop by and bring a few bottles of it to taste it. He brightly smiled promising to come back to bring soy sauce and asking her to try her best.
He looked round the kitchen, and wished the couple good health and wellbeing in the future before having a photograph taken with them.
Several months later, the couple gave birth to a baby girl.
They began to ponder how to name their child.
Every villager recommended a name, but the couple was not yet satisfied.
So more often than not did they remember that the Chairman showed parental care to their living saying that the dishes they had would not be enough if their family got larger in the future.
Finally, they wrote a letter to the Chairman requesting him to name their child.
Not long after that, news that the Chairman named their child Kim Kwang Myong spread around the village.
