Final matches of "Inter-Provincial Mass Sports Contest--2026" and closing ceremony of "2026 Spring National Sports Festival" held

The final matches of the "Inter-Provincial Mass Sports Contest--2026" and the closing ceremony of the "2026 Spring National Sports Festival" took place at Kim Il Sung Stadium on the 23rd.
Present there were Pak Jong Gun, Vice-Premier of the Cabinet and Chairman of the State Planning Commission who is Vice-Chairman of the National Sports Guidance Committee, Choe Chang Hak, First Deputy Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, members of the National Sports Guidance Committee, officials concerned, sportspeople, the participants in the inter-provincial mass sports contest and Pyongyang citizens.
First, there were final matches of the "Inter-Provincial Mass Sports Contest--2026".
In the final matches of events including relay race the players fully displayed the sports techniques they improved in the course of their brisk mass sports activities.
The final match of tug of war was held between the teams of Pyongyang Municipality and North Phyongan Province.
In the match the team of Pyongyang Municipality came off a victor.
Then there was an awarding ceremony, which announced the rankings of events of the "2026 Spring National Sports Festival" and the total standings of provinces of the "Inter-Provincial Mass Sports Contest--2026" and awarded rotating trophy cups, new record medals and prizes to the excellent teams and players.
Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Kim Il Guk declared the "2026 Spring National Sports Festival" closed.
At the "2026 Spring National Sports Festival" 30 players set new records of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in a number of events including weightlifting, shooting and field and track. At the "Inter-Provincial Mass Sports Contest--2026" Pyongyang Municipality came first, South Hamgyong Province second and North Hwanghae Province third.
