All the orphans in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea call the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un their father.

From olden times, orphan was a synonym for sympathy and misfortune. In the DPRK, however, there are children who lost their parents but none of them live in sorrow.

Home of Orphans, His First Consideration

On the International Children's Day, parents visit the kindergartens and nurseries where their children play sports and amusement games and give colourful art performances.

On June 1, 2014, the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un called at the Pyongyang Orphanage to see the children who greeted the International Children's Day.

He entered the recreation room, saying where else he should go if he did not come to see the orphans on the children's holiday. All the orphans threw themselves into his arms.

Telling them not to be hasty, or they might fall down, he hugged them one by one. And he kindly asked them what they were playing and if they had taken tasty foods.

As if telling their own father, the orphans enthusiastically talked about the foods and snacks they had taken, counting them on their fingers.

That day, Marshal Kim Jong Un beamed all over his face, saying he was pleased to see all the children smile brightly.

He went on to say: Now a modern baby home and orphanage are being built on the bank of the Taedong River. The orphans will celebrate June 1 at the new orphanage next year.

From that day on, the orphans eagerly waited to see their new home.

On the day of moving into the new home under the loving care of Marshal Kim Jong Un, they jumped up and down for joy.

In that home, Marshal Kim Jong Un spent the New Year's Day in 2015 together with the orphans, keeping his promise to come again.

He wore a bright smile on his face, saying all the children got chubby and looked bright, valiant and clever. He was really like their father.

All the homes of orphans are associated with warm affection of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

He visited the Wonsan Baby Home and Orphanage just before their inauguration ceremony on June 1, 2015 and said with great satisfaction that he could keep the promise he had made with the children to hold the inauguration ceremony on the International Children's Day. He added that if we let children cut the inauguration tape, they would not forget all their lives the day when they entered their home after cutting the tape for themselves.

As said above, he always keeps the baby homes and orphanages in his mind because they are homes of the parentless children sick for affection more than anybody else.

Father's Request

The respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un is most pleased when the laughter and singing of the children resound far and wide.

That is why he said it should be the mode of advance and development of the Korean revolution that the greater difficulties it faces, the greater sincerity it shows to the children and goes forward stubbornly toward the future of communism by dint of the love.

He visited the Pyongyang Baby Home and Orphanage for the first time on February 3, 2014.

Saying the orphans long for affection more than anybody else that day, he called for bringing them up well to be bright and upright in place of their parents.

Later, he called at many baby homes and orphanages, showing special love for the orphans.

He paid concern to the upbringing, education and edification of the orphans, the supply of materials to them and the preventive and curative medical care for them, noting that he cannot sleep when he thinks of them and he would become their parent.

He saw that a modern fishery station was built to supply fish exclusively to all the baby homes and orphanages, calculating the amount of fish to be fed to the orphans in his pocketbook at a windy port. And he took measures to furnish the baby homes and orphanages across the country with a new set of utensils. His paternal affection is kept deep in the hearts of the orphans.

People's Teacher Choe Song Ran, Head of the Pyongyang Orphanage, talked about the request he made whenever he called at the orphanage.

"The respected Marshal Kim Jong Un visited the Pyongyang Orphanage as many as six times.

Whenever he came, he kindly asked us to bring up the orphans well, saying it is his request.

He became the father of the orphans."

True to his intention, the orphans throughout the country are growing up happily with dreams to become famous scientists, artistes, sportspeople and heroes.

They have nothing to envy in the world under the loving care of Marshal Kim Jong Un who shows kindred feelings to the orphans, saying they are all his sons and daughters and he is a rich man with most children.
