Every school has small boxes managed by the Children's Union members. They write down the beautiful deeds of their friends on the pieces of paper before putting them into the box.
In the box there were slips with stories about a student who took part in the movement of preparing the "Sonyon" farm machines, about a student who called on a sick classmate with special foods, about a student of helping a friend with study until late at night, about a student who made a flower plant fallen by a rainy wind stand properly and about a student who repaired other's torn notebook just like a new one.
In no more than a few days the box gets full of slips of paper and the beautiful deeds written on them are soon told to everyone.
That's why the Children's Union members call this a "box telling the beautiful minds".
Teacher Jong Sol Hyang at the Changgwang Senior Middle School in Central District said the operation of the box gives a great help to the education and edification of students, and continued:
"Through the operation of the 'box telling the beautiful minds', I saw big progress in the spiritual development of students. Lots of stories about students helping and leading each other forward are not known to the teachers.
Students write down what they felt grateful for the help they got from their friends and their friends' beautiful deeds on the pieces of paper and put them into the box. We tell the stories on the pieces of paper to everyone every Saturday.
Then the students get to know that such good friends are in their class and in the course, others decide to learn after them and do something good for their friends. And those students who were appreciated make a determination to do more good things for their collective and friends in the future."
Like this, the Children's Union members not only develop their knowledge but also grow their beautiful minds at school. Such minds continue to be put into this small box.
The "box telling the beautiful minds" is too small to carry all the beautiful stories of students. But it is a "big mirror" reflecting the laudable deeds of the Children's Union members who are preparing themselves as the pillars of the country.
