The Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic here hosted a reception at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Club on Tuesday to mark the 45th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Laos.
Present there on invitation were Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho, Cha Hui Rim, Chairman of the Pyongyang City People’s Committee who is Chairman of the DPRK-Laos Friendship Association, Ryu Myong Son, Vice Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and other officials concerned.
Sisavath Khamsaly, Lao Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and his Embassy members and a delegation of the Lao Federation of Trade Unions on a visit to the DPRK were on hand.
Speeches were made at the reception.
The Lao Ambassador said that the meeting between President Kaysone Phomvihane, the respected leader of the Lao people, and President Kim Il Sung , the great leader of the Korean people, was a historic occasion of great significance in developing the bilateral relations.
Affirming that Laos always supports the just line and policies of the DPRK for reunification and peace of the Korean peninsula, he expressed the belief that the Korean people would register new successes in the building of a powerful socialist nation and accomplishment of the cause of national reunification under the guidance of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un .
Ri Yong Ho recalled that the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Laos have invariably developed during the past 45 years, witnessing mutual comradely support and cooperation for the accomplishment of the cause of socialism, despite the complicated international situation.
It is the consistent stand of the DPRK government to develop the bilateral friendly and cooperative relations on to a higher stage as required by the new era, he stressed.
