The Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea hosted a reception at the Paekhwawon State Guest House on September 10 in welcome of the visit to the DPRK by the delegation of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP).
Present there on invitation were members of the delegation of the LPRP led by Phankham Viphavanh, member of the Political Bureau and permanent secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the LPRP and vice-president of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
Present there were Ri Su Yong, member of the Political Bureau and vice-chairman of the WPK Central Committee, Cha Hui Rim, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People's Committee who doubles as chairman of the DPRK-Laos Friendship Association, Ryu Myong Son, deputy department director of the WPK Central Committee, Ri Kil Song, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and officials concerned.
Ri Su Yong in his speech said that the Korean people are rejoiced over the successes made by the Lao people in the struggle to consolidate the system of people's democracy and defend the gains of revolution under the leadership of the party as over their own.
He expressed the will to further develop the comradely and strategic relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parties and the two countries in the future, too.
Phankham Viphavanh extended thanks to the Korean Party, government and people in the name of the Lao party, government and people for expressing great support for and solidarity with the Lao people in their struggle for national salvation and socialist construction.
We will always make every possible effort to set store by the friendly and cooperative relations with the DPRK and further develop them, he said.
He expressed the belief that the fraternal Korean people would register greater successes in the building of a powerful socialist country by fully implementing the decision made at the 7th Congress of the WPK under the leadership of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.
