Officials and researchers in the forest science sector produced valuable research findings conducive to forest creation and conservation.
Researchers of the institute of forests of economic value under the Academy of Forestry produces 150 000 to 200 000 saplings per hectare to send them to relevant units by introducing a method of producing dwarf chestnut saplings in a scientific and intensive way.
In the course of acclimatizing seabuckthorn that grows fast and has high productivity and medicinal effects, they succeeded in breeding and introducing new species of trees that are suited to the actual conditions of the country and increased their survival rate up to 90 %.
They developed active nutrition liquid and rooting stimulant, which are winning popularity among users as they invigorate the growth of roots, increase germination of seeds by 1.5 times and ensure 100% of survival rate when transplanting tall trees.
Those of the forest breeding institute and the forest machinery institute are making proactive efforts to bring about an improvement in creating forests for seed selection and generalize throughout the country the Korean-style machines for preventing pest damage and controlling pests.
