Working people across the country are conducting the activities for tidying up streets, villages and workplaces in a hygienic and cultural way, in combination with the prevention of COVID-19 during the spring clean-up months.
In one month alone, Pyongyang citizens carried out such improvement projects as the cleaning and sterilization of water tanks and reservoirs in the city, re-painting of outer walls of over 42 900 blocks of dwelling houses, public establishments and street lamps, road repairs and pavement of sidewalks.
Officials and other working people in Sunchon City of South Phyongan Province finished the building of over one thousand-metre-long embankments along the Taedong River in a few days. They are making efforts to carry out one by one the projects planned in the spring clean-up months, including the repair of multi-storey apartment buildings and curbstones and clear-out of ditches.
Those in Jagang Province promoted such planned projects as the clear-out of ditches, repair of sidewalks and tree-planting by directing efforts to improving the overall hygienic environment.
Those in North Phyongan and South Hamgyong provinces and Kaesong City are pushing ahead with the work of keeping clean the streets, villages, houses and workplaces, while taking preventive measures against all the factors which may cause diseases.
