Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The 12th Plenary Meeting of the 14th Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) took place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on December 4.

Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, first vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and president of the SPA Presidium, presided over the meeting.

It was attended by Vice-Presidents Thae Hyong Chol and Pak Yong Il, Secretary General Ko Kil Son and other members of the SPA Presidium.

Officials concerned of the Presidium of the SPA and the Cabinet were on hand as observers.

Brought up at the meeting were agenda items "On convening a session of the SPA of the DPRK", "On adopting the DPRK law on rejecting reactionary ideology and culture", "On adopting the DPRK law on introduction of sci-tech achievements", "On adopting the DPRK law on forestry", "On adopting the DPRK law on mobile telecommunications" and "On recalling and electing judges of the Central Court of the DPRK".

First, a decision of the Presidium of the SPA on convening the 4th session of the 14th SPA of the DPRK, which was put on the agenda of the meeting, was adopted with the unanimous approval of its participants.

Then, there was an explanation about the gist of relevant laws deliberated at the Legislation Committee of the SPA.

The law on rejecting the reactionary ideology and culture specifies the principles to be certainly observed by all the institutions, enterprises, organizations and citizens in further cementing our ideological, revolutionary and class positions by thoroughly preventing the inroads and spread of the anti-socialist ideology and culture and firmly maintaining our idea, spirit and culture.

The law on introduction of sci-tech achievements details the issue of tightening discipline in mapping out, notifying, grasping, controlling and reviewing the plans of introduction of sci-tech achievements, the issue of ensuring scientific accuracy, objectivity and correctness in deliberating, examining, estimating and confirming the introduction of sci-tech achievements.

The law on forestry specifies the issue of putting the production of timber on a normal basis while steadily increasing the forest resource of the country by establishing a modern forestry bases with state investment and applying cyclic felling method properly and waging an all-people campaign for planting and nurturing trees, and the issue of thoroughly observing the system and order established in the supply, sale and use of timber.

The law on mobile telecommunications deals with the principled issues arising in the mobile telecommunications including the set-up, management and operation of mobile telecommunications facilities, modern perfection of mobile telecommunications network, diversification of mobile telecommunications, service and use of mobile telecommunications and registration of mobile telecommunications equipment.

On the basis of in-depth study and discussion of the agenda items, the meeting adopted the decrees of the Presidium of the SPA on the adoption of the above-said laws with the unanimous approval of its participants.

Judges of the Central Court of the DPRK were recalled and elected at the meeting. -0-
