Kim Jong Un , General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), received a congratulatory message from Bashar Al-Assad, President of the Syrian Arab Republic, on January 12.
The Syrian President noted in the message that he is pleased to offer the heartfelt warmest congratulations on his own behalf and on behalf of the Syrian Arab people to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un upon the convention of the 8th Congress of the WPK and his election as General Secretary of the WPK.
The message recalled that the WPK has achieved victories and successes in the protracted historic course and plays the guiding role in the advance and development of the DPRK, adding that it serves as a solid foundation for achieving a greater victory in the future struggle.
It stressed that the Supreme Leader’s election as General Secretary of the WPK is a manifestation of the absolute support by all the Korean people who are faithful to the great idea and principle of the Party.
Expressing warm congratulations again to the Supreme Leader, it hoped that he and the WPK would always achieve successes in the work for the well-being of the friendly people of the DPRK.
