As a society develops, the demand for life protection and health promotion far exceeds that for material and economic well-being. Thus public health sector serves as a mirror reflecting the country’s image and a yardstick judging the characteristics of its social system.
The Workers’ Party of Korea and the government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea channel great efforts into upgrading the public health sector to the world’s advanced level.
Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un works tirelessly for the revival and rapid development of the country’s public health sector with the firm belief that modernization of public health sector ensures the attainment of our far-reaching goals and thus the rosy future of the State.
Such advanced facilities as Ryugyong Dental Hospital and Okryu Children’s Hospital, all providing medical benefits for the people, are numbered among the valuable crystallization of his devoted efforts for the protection of life of our people and children and their health promotion, regarding them as the top national priority.
In order that our people are provided with the world’s best healthcare and lead a healthy and sound life by reconstructing the public health sector on a new advanced basis and promoting its rapid development, he kindled the flame of public health revolution of the new era last year and designated the year 2025 as the first year of public health revolution to be recorded in the history of the country.
Constructed at the centre of the capital is the first fruition of the public health revolution, the Pyongyang General Hospital that guarantees a surer protection of our people’s lives and health. By the end of the year 2025, a series of modern hospitals were inaugurated in Kangdong County and many other places across the country, foretelling the bright prospect of the public health rejuvenation of our own style.
Following our Party’s blueprint for modernization, the country’s public health sector will attain a higher stage of its development in the near future by building on the success already achieved in the course of the public health revolution and will ultimately be strengthened to fulfil its role as fertile soil for increasing the country’s capacity to protect and promote people’s lives.
