The historic 9 th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) declared the invariable foreign policy of the WPK and the government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
National interests are the criterion of thinking and viewpoint on international relations in the present era characterized by fierce competitions among states, and to defend the national interests is the invariable principle that our country adheres to in its external activities.
The DPRK will steadily develop the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation with neighboring countries onto a higher stage and proactively conduct political and diplomatic activities, exchange and cooperation to expand and strengthen the relations with the anti-imperialist independent countries.
The WPK and the government of the DPRK will always remain faithful to the adherence to the Constitution of the DPRK, which permanently stipulates the position of the nuclear weapons state, in the future too, ensure peace and security in the region and the rest of the world and actively promote the building of a multi-polarized world aspiring after independence and justice.
