Workers and members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea met at the plaza before the statues of the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in the city of Phyongsong, South Phyongan Province, on February 19 to make a pledge to implement to the letter the first year's task under the five-year plan set forth at the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Present at the meeting were Ri Il Hwan, secretary of the WPK Central Committee, Cha Pyong Yun, secretary of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the WPK, officials of the GFTUK and working people and members of the GFTUK in the province.
Pak In Chol, chairman of the GFTUK Central Committee, delivered a speech at the meeting.
The speaker stressed that the report made by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un at the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th WPK Central Committee is a militant banner which vigorously inspires the working people and the members of the GFTUK to carry out the programme of struggle advanced at the 8th Party Congress.
All the working people and members of the GFTUK should implement the decisions of the plenary meeting thoroughly and perfectly with death-defying struggle, he said.
He ardently called upon all the working people to uphold the idea and spirit of the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th WPK Central Committee and turn out as one in the struggle for implementing the first year's task under the five-year plan, noting that they are sure to emerge victorious under the leadership of Kim Jong Un .
Then, oath-taking speeches were made.
The speakers pledged to be all out to carry out the new five-year plan, upholding wholeheartedly the leadership of Kim Jong Un who set another milestone in the history of socialist construction.
A letter of pledge to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
