Pyongyang, April 26 (KCNA) -- In the DPRK, a work is conducted under the unified guidance of the state to consolidate the system and order for creation, protection, circulation and utilization of intellectual property and ensure the strategic concentration and effectiveness under the intellectual property development strategy.
Stepped up are such works to perfect the legal and institutional conditions and circumstances for the protection of intellectual property as revising the existing laws and regulations on examination, registration and protection of intellectual property as required by the present times.
Enterprises have worked out and executed their business strategies for the working people to create the intellectual property and make the best use of it, while waging an emulation drive for creating more inventions, industrial designs, trademarks and other properties with competitive edge.
Every year, prizes instituted by the state have been awarded to inventors and creators who contributed to the creation of intellectual properties of great significance in society.
Meanwhile, the state has conducted brisk information activities through TV, newspapers and other media with national inventions and industrial art exhibitions and other shows and the World Intellectual Property Day (April 26) as an occasion to further incite the public's law-abiding spirit and interest in the protection of intellectual property.
The educational sector has stepped up the preparations for setting up a well-organized education system on the intellectual property work to lay foundation and circumstance for training more talents in this field.
The DPRK government acceded to the World Intellectual Property Organization in August Juche 63 (1974) and signed more than 10 treaties and conventions of the organization like the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). -0-
