Kim Tok Hun, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of different sectors in the east coastal area.
Looking round fishery stations, cooperative farms and a local industrial factory under construction in South Hamgyong and Kangwon Provinces, he encouraged the working people who are displaying the fighting spirit of self-reliance and fortitude to carry out this year's policy tasks presented at the Party Congress and the Party Plenary Meetings.
He acquainted himself with the actual conditions of the Sinpho, Hongwon, Soho, Songdowon and Thongchon Fishery Stations and held consultative meetings, in which he discussed issues on increasing the per-ship fish catch through dynamic fishing and improving the supply service for the fishermen.
At a number of cooperative farms in Sinpho City and Hongwon, Hamju, Jongphyong, Kumya and Kowon Counties, Premier Kim stressed the need to push ahead methodologically with the work to actively introduce scientific farming methods suited to the geographical characteristics and generalize the experience of the advanced units.
After learning about the operation of the stockbreeding bases in the Sepho area, he underscored the need to increase the production of livestock products and develop the milk-processing technology and thus produce and supply dairy products of high nutritive value on a regular basis.
Going round Kimhwa County where a vigorous struggle is waged to implement the line of the Party on strengthening the cities and counties and create a new standard of local industrial factory, he took measures to ensure both quality and speed in construction and fully supply the equipment needed for its operation.
Meanwhile, Kim Tok Hun learned about how the milk is supplied to the nurseries and kindergartens before discussing ways to improve it.
