Working people’s organizations held meetings with war veterans on July 23 in the run-up to the 68th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.
The meetings were attended by Chairman Mun Chol of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, Chairwoman Kim Jong Sun of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea, officials of the youth league and the women’s union, youth and students and women’s union members.
War veteran Pak Myong Sik met with the youth and students in the capital city of Pyongyang at the Central Youth Hall.
He asked the young people to give fullest play to their resourcefulness and gallantry in every worksite for a great upsurge by carrying forward the fighting spirit displayed by the Heroes in the war.
Speakers, at the meeting, expressed their determination to fully demonstrate the might of the SPYL by taking the lead in the general onward march to carry out the decision of the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea, cherishing deep in their hearts the spirit of defending the country and the revolution displayed by the heroic soldiers in the 1950s.
After the meeting, there was a performance given by the itinerant art squad of war veterans in Taedonggang District of Pyongyang.
Meanwhile, war veteran Rim Chan Ju met with officials and members of the women’s union at the Hall of Women.
She ardently called on all officials and members of the women’s union to trust in and follow the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un only single-mindedly, whatever the storms, and perform remarkable feats in the drive for implementing the decision of the Party Congress in the indomitable spirit of the Korean women.
Singing the wartime song To a Decisive Battle in chorus followed by the war veteran, the participants were firmly resolved to staunchly carry forward the revolutionary and fighting spirit displayed by the soldiers in the 1950s.
