In the first half of the 20th century Korea was a colony of the Japanese imperialists.
The great leader Kim Il Sung waged the 20-year-long anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and thus put an end to the 40-odd-year-long Japanese imperialist colonial rule and liberated the country.
In order to tell his exploits for national liberation forever, the Korean people built revolutionary sites in the areas where the battles against the Japanese imperialists took place.
The Madusan Revolutionary Battle Site in the western area of Korea had the Madusan Secret Camp built according to the operational plan of Kim Il Sung. At that time the Madusan Secret Camp was an important base of activities for carrying out the operation of national liberation.
On January 22, Juche 103(2014) the respected Kim Jong Un visited the Madusan Revolutionary Battle Site.
Looking round different places of the battle site, he stopped walking before the tree bearing the slogan "Keep the revolutionary faith to the death!" which is preserved outdoors.
He said: The slogan "Keep the revolutionary faith to the death!" written on a barked tree is really wonderful as it represented the mental world of the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners. Revolution is just faith. If one gives up one's faith, one cannot make revolution. The faith kept deep in the hearts of the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners was the unchangeable one that if they are led by Kim Il Sung, they can achieve the national liberation and live a true life as revolutionary.
And he had a photo taken with officials against the slogan-bearing tree.
That day, Kim Jong Un stressed that the brilliant revolutionary tradition created by Kim Il Sung during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle is the strong root of the WPK and the Korean revolution.
An armful-thick tree is standing firmly thanks to the strong root guaranteeing its viability.
