Officials and workers of the Pyongyang Thermal Power Station are waging a vigorous technical innovation drive to build up the material and technological foundations for electricity production.
They improved heat and combustion efficiency by introducing a boiler airtight technology by means of hollow fly-ash insulating bricks and a new dust collection technology in a planned way by relying on their own efforts and technology.
In close contact with relevant units, they introduced a plasma ignition and stable combustion method without using heavy oil so as to ensure safe ignition and operation of boilers, and trebled the serviceable life of slide bearings of coal mill.
They are also making lagging materials with waste materials to keep boiler bodies warm. They established a new turbine oil refining process to recycle turbine oil, which enables them to gain big economic profits.
