Recently, the U.S. is showing ill-boding military moves under the pretext of “protection of Taiwan”.
On November 3, the U.S. Department of Defense excluded the provision of “stationing of foreign troops in Taiwan” from the list of Taiwan-related “red line” which is reflected in the “Military and Security Developments Involving the People’s Republic of China 2021”. Thus it rendered the possibility of U.S. troops’ stationing in Taiwan a fait accompli.
Some time ago, the U.S. President, on a public occasion, did not hide the fact that “the U.S. is committed to defending the island if it is attacked”. Recently, even the bill that would provide Taiwan with military aid worth 2 billion US$ was introduced for ratification at the U.S. Congress.
In this context, U.S. has shown its intensive military moves in practice with its special forces training Taiwan forces and the U.S. forces staging joint military exercises with Taiwan navy on Guam that is not far from Taiwan.
This is an open challenge to the principle of One China officially recognized by the international society, which cannot be termed otherwise than reckless lunacy of confrontation wrecking and violating the order and principle of non-interference in the internal affairs and respect for sovereignty.
Such military moves of the U.S. do not come from its “chivalrous spirit” to protect Taiwan, but it is aimed at turning Taiwan into the first-line trench and an outpost to contain China so as to take advantage of it to implement its Indo-Pacific strategy.
Some time ago, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of China sternly warned that outrageous attempt and act of the U.S. against China will definitely suffer a crushing defeat by the solid defense line - the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. This is a manifestation of firm faith and will of the Chinese people to safeguard their sacred sovereignty to the end.
Taiwan issue is, from A to Z, an inviolable issue of sovereignty which belongs to the internal affairs of China. Therefore, it should be surely resolved in accordance with the principle of One China.
