European Union Should Put an End to the Nonsensical “Human Rights” Racket

Date: 05/12/2021 | Source: Ministry of Foreign Affairs (EN) | Read original version at source

Recently, an anti-DPRK “human rights resolution” submitted by the EU was railroaded through the Third Committee of the 76 th Session of UNGA.

This “resolution” is also one of the nonsensical documents of stratagem running through with falsehood and fabrication concocted by the EU which is in the habit of bringing this up on an annual basis, serving as a tool of the U.S. that is running amok to pursue its hostile policy towards the DPRK.

Our people are now in towering rage to see the outrageous infringement of sovereignty by hostile forces who are daring to tarnish the image of our Republic where popular masses enjoy genuine human rights as the masters of the state and society.

That the EU is indeed a marionette of the U.S. goes well with it in view of the fact that the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations made idle remarks in appreciation of the EU’s farce of submitting the anti-DPRK “draft resolution” and the EU staged such a farce according to the U.S. scenario.

As we hear the recent voices coming from within EU demanding “strategic autonomy” and “building of a powerful Europe”, we thought that EU came to its senses after it was shunned by the U.S. and suffered a great deal of disgrace through Afghan crisis and the foundation of AUKUS. However, this instance leads us to make a conclusion that the EU has still a long way to go before it takes up the position of an independent axis of the world.

When it comes to the human rights violation, it is none other than the EU countries that are fraught with yet more serious issues than anybody else.

Recently, the “EU Observer” made a comment on miserable human rights plight of the refugees: “The European Union has blood on its hands. The blood of the thousands of people drowning in its seas, frostbitten at its borders, dying after being illegally pushed back.” This is only the tip of the iceberg.

In EU countries, various acts of human rights violations such as racism, maltreatment of children and discrimination against women occur almost every day. Among them is also a horrible incident of a policemen choking to death an innocent person in broad daylight.

The EU would be well-advised to try to find a solution to cleansing itself of the heaps of its own serious human rights issues rather than finding fault with others in human rights.
