Recorded in Tonguibogam , one of three books on traditional medicine of Korea, is Pangphungthongsongsan , a Koryo medicine used for treating obesity.
According to a classic, the medicine is prepared with 18 kinds of medicinal materials and used as a decoction with 40.9 grams as a dose.
The Moranbong Koryo Medicine Pharmaceutical Factory developed Hwanggumbangphung Capsule for Obesity by applying a cutting-edge technology of extracting and separating effective ingredients on the principle of sustaining the superiority of Pangphungthongsongsan and preserving its medicinal efficacy.
The medicine is winning high appraisals among users.
It received a patent of the DPRK and was highly appreciated in the exhibitions of new technological achievements several times.
The factory with a history of over fifty years produces over 30 kinds of Koryo medicines, including Fructus Crataegi Ryongsinhwan Pill , Uhwangchongsimhwan , Ryukmihwan and Sprbariae Sorbifoliae Fructus Cough Liquid Medicine .
It also produces such efficacious medicines as Salvia Miltiorrhiza Myopia-Recovering Tablet and Lightyellow Sophora Anticancer Injection .
Manager Ko Hyok Ju said: The goal of the factory is to contribute to improving the health of people by steadily developing new medicines while increasing the production of Koryo medicines which are in wide use among people.
