Russia Censures Attempts of Pressure by U.S. and the West over Ukrainian Issue

Russian Foreign Ministry has recently issued a statement strongly condemning the West for fully backing up the Kiev regime’s breaking Minsk Agreement and preparation of armed invasion of Donbas.

Highlighting the fact that the U.S. and its allies frequently carry out irregular military exercises in the sky of the Black Sea and NATO fighters, including strategic bombers make provocative and dangerous flights along the Russian border area, the statement pointed out that, instead of checking the hostile policy of Kiev regime against Russia, NATO member states attempt to occupy Ukraine by military means.

It also stated that the line on dragging Ukraine into NATO might lead to a situation where an attack missile complex capable of reaching the center of Russia in a short time and other weapon systems appear in the country, and expressed a position that Russia will never tolerate any attempt to press Russia by military means under the pretext of the Ukrainian issue.

Meanwhile, a Vice-Minister of the Russian Foreign Ministry said in an interview that although NATO affirmed to the former Soviet Union and to the Russian leadership that there would be no more extension to the east, the reality is quite different from its promise. And he warned that in case NATO member states and other countries hoping to join NATO disregard the reasonable and fair demand of Russia, the consequences will be catastrophic.
