A meeting of young vanguard to pledge to thoroughly implement the decisions made at the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea was held at the Pyongyang Municipal Youth Park Open-Air Theatre on January 10.
Present there were Ri Tu Song, department director of the WPK Central Committee, officials of the youth league and relevant organs, and youth and students in Pyongyang.
Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, delivered a report.
He said the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth WPK Central Committee, at the proposal of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the WPK, extended thanks in the name of the Party Central Committee to the exemplary agricultural officials, workers, scientists and technicians who made a tangible contribution to doing farming well last year.
Kim Jong Un expressed his greatest trust in young people again as he said that last year when the Party Congress was held, many young people volunteered to work in difficult and labour-consuming sectors and did good deeds, which moved the people, and that it was a remarkable success that the spirit of young people became very high, the reporter said.
The reporter called on young people across the country to give fullest play to the militant might of the socialist patriotic youth in the grand march of the New Year to bring earlier the comprehensive development of the Korean-style socialism and the people’s happiness, single-heartedly united around the respected General Secretary.
Speeches were made at the meeting.
A letter of pledge to Kim Jong Un was adopted, to be followed by a march of young vanguard.
