The Academy ofAgricultural Science is putting spurs to increasing the agricultural production.
The Rice Institute and the Dry Crops Institute concentrate efforts to breeding and introducing the varieties of rice with short period of growth, the strains of wheat and barley with high productivity and good quality, and high-yield, choice varieties with strong resistance to blight as soon as possible with main stress on breeding and improving the seeds which can stand the disastrous abnormal climate but give high yield.
The Agricultural Information Institute is taking sci-tech measures to disseminate science and technology and render long-distance question-answer service on the agricultural technology in a more substantial way, so that the cooperative farms across the country can actively introduce the experiences gained in the course of doing scientific farming and conducting the high-yielding campaign and the successes in the agricultural scientific researches.
Besides, the academy concentrates efforts on researching and developing efficient products including the growth promoter and nutrition reinforcing agent. It also directs efforts to solving the urgent issues to produce non-virus potato seeds and increase the production of animal products, fruit, vegetables and industrial crops.
