The National IT Successes Exhibition--2021 was held in October last year. TheArtificial Intelligence Technology Institute of the Information Science Department of Kim IlSung University took the first place in the artificial intelligence program competition.
Researchers of the institute set a high target to surpass the world level beyond the domestic supremacy in the field of artificial intelligence this year.
The institute has attached importance to the basic study in the development of artificial intelligence technology such as speech recognition and machine translation including the Korean character recognition technology already since tens of years ago, bringing about many successes. Especially, it has developed machine translation and interpretation programs for mobile phone including the machine translation service system "Ryongma" which are used for the national network and at a number of units. Those programs are popular among users.
They are now attaching importance to the research for developing products with the world competitive edge by their concerted efforts.
Section Chief Choe Chol Hun says:
"This time we developed new number plate recognition program and multilingual character recognition program.
Those programs can work in ordinary computers and intelligent mobiles.
We are going to develop more IT products of Korean style not with the ability of an individual, but with the concerted efforts of our group."
A practical progress is made in the research for developing and completing IT products conducive to the realization of information technology and the economic development of the country amid the traits of collectivism with which they share and transmit their knowledge while helping and leading one another forward.
