In the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea held in December Juche 110 (2021), General Secretary Kim Jong Un made an important conclusion “On the Orientation of the Work of the Party and State in 2022.”
Saying that the supply of school uniforms and things to the students across the country at the state’s expense is a consistent policy of the Party and the state, he set forth a task for supplying all the students with quality uniforms and bags of new forms without exception and took an important measure for implementing it.
In retrospect, the history of the Republic can be said to be the history in which it set up the work for the rising generations as an important policy of the state and dedicated all to this end.
Since a pencil issue was presented as one of agenda items of the First Session of the Provisional People’s Committee of North Korea after the country’s liberation from the Japanese military occupation on August 15, 1945, the DPRK has enforced the system of universal free education, adopted the Law on Nursing and Upbringing of Children, and taken full responsibility for all burdens needed for education of the rising generations.
And it has made it a rule to provide all the students across the country with school uniforms and things at the state’s expense.
In his conclusion made at the aforesaid plenary meeting Kim Jong Un stated that the supply of school uniforms to the children is not a work that might be done under favourable conditions or might not be done under unfavourable conditions, but the policy of our Party and the eternal state policy of the Republic that must be done unconditionally and preferentially.
