A lecture meeting and a film show were held in Vientiane of Laos on May 19, under the sponsorship of the Laotian Foreign Ministry, to mark the 30 th anniversary of the meeting between President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and Kaysone Phomvihane, former chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and president of Laos, during his visit to the DPRK.
Attending the events were a vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, the vice-chairperson of the Commission for Propaganda and Training Affairs of the C.C., LPRP and other officials of the Lao government, political Party and friendship organizations, including the Committee for External Affairs of the LPRP, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Laos-Korea Friendship Association, and the ambassador and members of the DPRK embassy in Vientiane.
At the lecture meeting, the vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos said that the meaningful meeting between the preceding leaders of Laos and the DPRK was a noteworthy event of significance in the development of bilateral relations.
He stressed that the lecture would mark an important occasion in helping the younger generations get a better understanding of the significance of the historic meeting between the preceding leaders of the two countries and the tradition of the excellent bilateral cooperative relations.
Prior to the lecture meeting, the participants watched a video showing the matchless military strength of the DPRK and its national symbols.
