Syria Stands up to Dominant Scheme

Syria firmly maintains its anti-imperialist and independent stand while strongly denouncing and rejecting the dominant attempts of the U.S. though it has been experiencing a crisis for over 10 years due to the hostile forces.

On June 9, Bashar Al-Assad, President of Syria had an interview with RT, the Russian state TV station. At the interview, he scathingly condemned the U.S. for constantly pursuing its ambition for domination to plunder other countries regarding dollar as a tool. He also revealed that if dollar, which became reduced to waste paper long time ago, remains to dominate the world economy, all the countries would have no other choice but to leave their domestic economy at the “mercy” of the U.S. in the future, too.

He emphasized that although Syria has long been living in the sanctions and blockades by the U.S., it is satisfying its needs for existence and development by its own efforts. He continued to emphasize that Syria will bring hopes to its people while overcoming all sorts of challenges and difficulties in the future, too.

This can be viewed as a sharp criticism of the dominant act of the U.S. which has its own way by plundering all the assets of the world on the strength of its dollar which takes a leading position in the international financial system as a key currency, and by imposing unfair sanctions to Syria and other countries which stand against the U.S.

Recently, the hostile forces have gone to extremes in their moves to disturb the socio-political stability of Syria and suffocate its economy. Especially, the economy in Syria remains stagnant in its development and the basic right to existence of its people is exposed to a grave threat due to the U.S. sanctions and blockades.

However, Syria did not succumb to it. It is taking proactive measures to explore all the potentials to restore and readjust the economic infrastructure, and educational and medical facilities, and to stabilize the life of its people. It is also constantly developing the economic and trade relations with many countries around the world.

We are firmly convinced that fraternal Syrian people will achieve sure victory in the struggle to put an end to the crisis as soon as possible and build an independent and prosperous Syria under the leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad.

We will continue to fight shoulder to shoulder with the Syrian people in the same trench of common struggle against the U.S.
