Kim Tok Hun, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Vice- President of the State Affairs Commission and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of different sectors in South Hwanghae Province.
Looking round several farms in the province including the Honghyon Cooperative Farm in Paechon County, he called on the officials to dovetail the operation and command for implementation of the farming processes, keeping in mind the intention of the Party Central Committee which attaches importance to the farming in South Hwanghae Province.
He underscored the need for the co-op farms to hit the grain production goal for this year without fail by taking foresighted measures for preventing damages in the rainy season, while manuring and cultivating paddy rice in a scientific and technological way and doing other farm work well.
He acquainted himself in detail with the production, supply and sale of medicines in different regions including Haeju City and Pyoksong, Paechon, Yonan and Chongdan Counties, and instructed on thoroughly implementing the emergency anti-epidemic policies and steps of the state and intensifying the anti-epidemic campaign for preventing the outbreak and spread of all kinds of diseases such as the acute enteric epidemic so as to protect the lives of the people.
Learning about the actual conditions of local industry factories in the province, he called for pushing ahead with the expansion of capacity and the modernization of production processes to make a contribution to improving the people's living.
The consultative meetings held on the spot discussed the issues on encouraging the officials to display their strong organizational and executive ability in the implementation of the decisions of the Fifth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK and the new program of socialist rural construction, on meeting the demand for fertilizers in the agricultural field and on improving the urban management and public health services in keeping with the present anti-epidemic situation to protect the lives and health of the people and fully provide them with cultural living conditions, and took relevant measures.
Earlier, Premier Kim familiarized himself with the production of the Pyongyang Dental Hygiene Products Factory before discussing practical measures.
