In the DPRK the expression “closer and friendlier” has been more frequently heard since the top emergency anti-epidemic system was put into operation.
In August 2020, when the country sustained much damage from natural disasters and many important meetings of the Workers’ Party of Korea were held unusually for the purpose of stabilizing the livelihood of the afflicted people and repairing the damage as soon as possible, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said at the 16th meeting of the Political Bureau of the Seventh Central Committee of the WPK that the Party should take full responsibility for the people’s life and share with them in their hardships and that it should get closer to them in order to relieve them of the hardships.
In his important concluding speech at the Second Conference of Secretaries of Primary Committees of the WPK held in February 2022, he stressed that Party officials should go closer to the people in a friendlier way to faithfully perform their duty as mother and servant.
