Anyone who visits the Namdok Youth Coal Mine under the Pukchang Area Youth Coal-mining Complex is deeply impressed by the wives of its miners.
Though they come from different places, they share the same determination to devote their all to increased coal production.
They are working devotedly to help their husbands who are striving to increase coal production in the deep coal faces. Their beautiful deeds are a source of pride and joy of the mine.
There is a touching story about the women.
Several years ago, when they visited a pit face with aid materials for their husbands, they found some coal dropped around the pit. Though small in amount it was permeated with the sweat of their husbands. They collected and loaded it into a wagon.
The coal they have collected around pits and coal depots since then amounts hundreds of tons.
They have also collected scrap iron to provide materials needed for making parts for broken rock-drills and coal wagons.
Besides, they held a spectacular cooking show every week on the day for coal miners.
As the foods presented to the show will be offered to their husbands, they prepare them with all sincerity.
Although they are busy with their family affairs, they offer flowers to the miners every morning on their way to work and volunteer to do other things for the good of the mine.
Whenever the officials of the mine advise them to take care of their health, they would say: We are the wives of miners; we have nothing more to wish for if what we do can help our husbands even a little.
The miners find a great encouragement in them.
Reflecting their conscience on the bright faces and pure mind of the women, the miners are redoubling their efforts to increase coal production.
