Recently, Russian Newspaper “Nezabisimaya Gazetta” carried an article by a Russian commentator analyzing purpose behind U.S. bid to prolong the Ukrainian crisis.
In the article, the author quoted the words of the U.S. political and social figures and commented that the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine is instigated by the U.S. government which is controlled by munitions monopolies. Then he continued that none of investors would take the news on the diplomatic agreement as a good sign which will bring profits to the munitions enterprise.
He also underlined that tycoons of the U.S. munitions monopolies are in firm belief that their prosperity is guaranteed by prevailing situation where confrontation with Russia and the Ukrainian conflict persist, because competitions between powers will lead to the increase in defense budget and profits increase.
The author concluded the article with following derisive words:
The military expenditure approved by the U.S. Congress surpasses the amount requested by the White House. That is because the support for increase in defense budget becomes an “expression of very cheap patriotism”.
