Mun Kwang Il, researcher of Vocational School for Disabled Persons, is a person with disability.
He got cerebral infantile paralysis at the age of two, so he could not speak and walk properly.
With the growing care of medical workers and other people, he was resolved to make a challenge to his destiny.
Receiving treatment from doctors of the Koryo Medicine General Hospital, he conducted physical trainings steadily to get rid of motor neuropathy and intensive reading, with the result that he could walk by himself and read a book.
After graduating from a primary school and a middle school under the system of free compulsory education, he worked at a light labour workshop before entering Phyongsong College of Medical Sciences.
He wanted to do something for the teachers and friends of his school who had taken warm care of him, the persons with disabilities like him, and the benevolent system.
With a fervent spirit of inquiry, he often surprised his teachers and classmates with brilliant ideas during his college days.
In those days, he witnessed that some persons with weak immunity often got sick and buckled down to the basic research to solve it.
While working as an editor at a training school after graduating from the college, he continued his research to raise immunity of human body.
His mother, Dr. and Merited Scientist in the food industry sector, helped him in his research.
After making painstaking efforts, he discovered that royal jelly raises immunity of human body and effectively prevents radiation damage as it has high nutritive value and finally succeeded in developing eight kinds of royal jelly products.
Among them, the royal jelly-peach stalk granule and the royal jelly-leech capsule were awarded gold and bronze medals respectively in the 16th national inventions exhibition.
Three years ago, he became a researcher at Vocational School for Disabled Persons and also gives lessons.
The new teaching methods that he has developed as suited to the mental and physical characteristics of students with disabilities are rendering great services in raising their practical ability.
He often says to students: You should prepare yourselves into talents who can contribute large shares for our society and collective which give preferential treatment to and protect the persons with disabilities.
