Over 800 hectares of luxuriant forests and a tree nursery with dozens of species of saplings are the valuable fruition of the efforts of employees of the Pukchang County Forestry Management Station.
They are associated with their sincere efforts dedicated to their home village for over two decades.
They would live in the mountain almost all the year around. Spring and autumn are the most awaited seasons for them, because several units in the county come to them to receive saplings of good species.
The saplings produced at the tree nursery between forests they had long built with much effort were enough to satisfy the demand for creating forests in their charge.
But, a few years ago, they mapped out a bold plan to expand the tree nursery two times. They thought that it would be good to turn all the mountains in the county into green woods plus the Paenamu (pear tree) Valley and the surrounding mountains in their charge.
As a result, the saplings produced at the expanded tree nursery are supplied to many units and industrial establishments in spring and autumn every year.
Now many people visit the forestry management station.
