Choe Son Hui, Foreign Minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, gave a statement to media on the 17th.
The statement said:
A few days ago the United States, Japan and south Korea held a tripartite summit conference and talked about "strengthening the offer of the extended deterrence" and "powerful and resolute counteraction", considering our legitimate and due military countermeasures caused by their aggressive war exercises to be "provocation". I give a serious warning to it.
Perhaps, the recent tripartite confab will drive the situation of the Korean peninsula to more unpredictable phase.
There is need to call up the fact that the United States and its followers have recently conducted large-scale aggressive war exercises in succession, but they failed to contain our overwhelming counteraction and instead, increased their security crisis.
The US bid to "strengthen the offer of the extended deterrence" and the military activities of the allied forces around the Korean peninsula which become busy day by day are a stupid act of inviting greater instability to the United States and its Allies.
As the United States is intent on "strengthening the offer of the extended deterrence" to its Allies and intensifies its provocative and bluffing military activities in the Korean peninsula and region, our military counteraction will be more violent in direct proportion to them and it will be more serious, realistic and inevitable threat to the United States and its followers.
The United States will realize that it is taking a gamble it will regret for sure.
