Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, sent a reply message to Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
In the reply message, Xi said that the Central Committee of the WPK and the General Secretary recently sent congratulatory messages full of ardour respectively upon the holding of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China and his re-election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee at the Congress. This shows that the General Secretary and the Korean Party Central Committee attach great importance to the development of the Sino-DPRK relations with the feeling of friendship toward him and the Chinese Party and people, he said.
He extended heartfelt thanks to Kim Jong Un and the Korean Party Central Committee on behalf of the Central Committee of the CPC and on his own behalf and sent sincere greetings to the General Secretary and the Korean Party and people.
Saying that he attaches great importance to the development of the Sino-DPRK relations, he noted that he and Kim Jong Un met on several occasions in recent years to reach a series of important common understanding and lead the Sino-DPRK relations, thereby opening up a new chapter of history. It promoted the course of political settlement of the peninsula issue, powerfully safeguarded the common interests of the peoples of the two countries, strongly defended the socialist cause and powerfully safeguarded peace and stability in the region and the rest of the world, he added.
The changes of the world, the times and history are now taking place in an unprecedented manner, he said, adding that he was willing to make new and proactive contributions to providing the peoples of the two countries with excellent welfare, giving impetus to the development of socialist cause of the two countries and promoting regional and global peace and stability, development and prosperity by strengthening the work of designing and leading the Sino-DPRK relations together with the General Secretary under new situations and firmly defending and successfully consolidating and developing the relations.
He wished General Secretary Kim Jong Un would achieve fresher and greater success in the cause of socialist construction in the DPRK by leading the Korean Party and people.
