The Ninth April Spring People’s Art Festival took place with splendour at different theatres in the capital city of Pyongyang between April 10 and 17 on the occasion of the 113th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

Drawing artistic group members of different institutions, industrial establishments and farms, the festival was held, divided into the categories of city and county (combined) art groups, art groups of institutions, art groups of industrial establishments and art groups of farms.

Performances were given by art group members of Haeju City, Songchon County, Phyongchon District and Kumya County at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre, the Hall of Culture of the Ministry of Railways, the Central Youth Hall and the Central Hall of Workers in Pyongyang.

Through narrative poem and chorus and other forms of numbers reflecting their yearning for the President and the exploits of the peerlessly great men associated with their units, performers sang in praise of the noble revolutionary career and exploits of the President, who adopted “The people are God” as his lifetime motto and continued his field guidance tours without rest all his life.

The audience was greatly moved by the performances given by Haeju City and Songchon County art group members as they impressively showed the world of patriotic devotion to the people of General Secretary Kim Jong Un who has been making constant devoted efforts to provide the people with a rich and cultured life.

Through different numbers making the audience picture both the past and present of the Korean people, the performers impressively showed the pride of their localities, where the locals’ laughter resounds in fairyland villages and modern regional industry factories built splendidly under the care of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the faith and optimism of the Korean people who are advancing towards a bright future.

The members of the art groups of the Rason Municipal People’s Committee and Kangwon Provincial Posts and Telecommunications Management Bureau displayed their pride and extolled the undying exploits of the President, who built an invincible socialist country, at the People’s Palace of Culture and East Pyongyang Grand Theatre.

The members of the similar groups of the Sinpho City Offshore Farm and September Textile Mill sang praise of the immortal exploits of the respected General Secretary who unfolded a gigantic blueprint for the rural revolution and the revolution in regional development in the new era and has brought about epoch-making miracles with his energetic guidance.

Famous songs, consistent with intense philosophical speculation about the country and national pride, filled the audience with boundless excitement with marching songs of the times redoubling the spirit of the powerful country.

The Ninth April Spring People’s Art Festival, in which songs and dances reflected the boundless reverence for the President, founder of socialist Korea and eternal saviour of the nation, revved up the festive atmosphere of the April holiday as a grand political and art festival overflowing with the faith and will of all the people to hold the President in high esteem forever and add eternal lustre to the new era of national prosperity under the leadership of the great Party.
