The first-phase modernization of the Kumsong Tractor Factory in Nampho was completed recently, with the result that the factory was turned into a leading base of the development of vehicle industry which can produce modern and highly efficient tractors.
This is unthinkable apart from the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un .
When he visited a machinery and equipment exhibition in May Juche 105 (2016), he saw a paradigm of a new-type 80 hp tractor produced by the Kumsong Tractor Factory. He said that the tractor manufactured by our working class looked nice and handsome and that the country had made a big stride in the effort to uphold the banner of self-reliance by manufacturing the new type tractor in reliance on its own strength, technology and style. He then emphasized that tractor was a very important means in the endeavour to defend the agricultural front, the forefront and first-line trench of the campaign to safeguard socialism.
When he visited the Kumsong Tractor Factory in November Juche 106 (2017), he saw the new-type 80 hp tractor again and personally drove it. He highly appreciated the workers of the factory for making it by their own efforts.
That day, he said to officials that he had come to the factory to take measures for modernizing it.
He set forth the tasks for modernization and gave advice on how to do it. Then he took a measure of sending a huge amount of money and powerful construction force to the factory.
Later he gave instructions on scores of occasions on the production of tractors and modernization of the factory.
He dealt with the problems arising in the production of tractors at the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea held in January Juche 110 (2021). And at the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth WPK Central Committee he clarified that the intention of the Party Central Committee was to develop the factory into a comprehensive one that could produce tractors with high horse power and other various efficient farming machines and took special measures for its implementation.
Thanks to his painstaking efforts, the Kumsong Tractor Factory developed into a modern factory and its workers grew up as highly creative workers representative of the era.
