The 24th Plenary Meeting of the 14th Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK was held at the Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang on the 2nd.
Choe Ryong Hae, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and First Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, presided over the meeting.
Present at the meeting were Vice-Chairmen Kang Yun Sok and Kim Ho Chol, Secretary General Ko Kil Son and other members of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly.
Also on hand as observers were officials concerned of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, the Secretariat of the Cabinet, ministries and national agencies.
Brought up for discussion as agenda items were the issues on adopting the DPRK Law on Protection of State Secrets, the Law on Railway Management, the Law on Education of Talented Persons, the Law on Loan and the Law on National Symbols and the review of execution and supervision of the DPRK Law on Providing Living Conditions for Demobilized Officers.
A report was made at the meeting on the main contents of the relevant laws examined at the Legislation Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly.
The meeting studied and examined the agenda items and adopted the DPRK Law on Protection of State Secrets, the Law on Railway Management, the Law on Education of Talented Persons, the Law on Loan and the Law on National Symbols as decrees of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly.
The meeting reviewed the execution and supervision of the DPRK Law on Providing Living Conditions for Demobilized Officers and adopted decisions of the Standing Committee of the SPA reflecting the practical measures for a proper execution of the law.
The meeting stressed the need for the socialist law-observance guidance committees at all levels to conduct the education in law observance through the newly-adopted laws in a substantial way and the Cabinet and other relevant organs to correctly work out and issue the provisions and detailed regulations for law enforcement in accordance with the requirements of law enactment and guarantee by law the struggle for the implementation of the decisions of the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee.
