On Calling the Seventh Enlarged Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK
It is a very important and urgent task to work out a correct strategy for development of agriculture and take relevant measures needed for the pressing farming in the struggle of the present stage for promoting the overall development of the socialist construction.
In order to put the agriculture of the country on a stable and sustained orbit of growth it is necessary to put main efforts into further strengthening the material and technological foundations of the agricultural sector including the promotion of preferential development of the agricultural science and technology and the perfection of the overall irrigation system.
The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK recognized that the turning point is necessary to powerfully promote the fundamental change in the agricultural development which is of key importance in consolidating and expanding the historic victory and success achieved by the Party and the people through the arduous struggle.
It decides to call the Seventh Enlarged Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee late in February in order to sum up the last year's struggle for implementing the program of rural revolution in the new era and discuss the problem of pressing farming and the prospective targets for the agricultural development.
