The whole country enjoyed the folk holiday, First Full Moon Day (the 15th day of the first month by the lunar calendar) that falls on February 5 this year.
The Pyongyang citizens, who visited the Rangnang Museum, spent a joyful time, playing colourful folk games.
There were a music and dance performance by artistes of the Phibada Opera Troupe at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre and a combined acrobatic performance by artistes of the National Acrobatic Troupe at the Pyongyang Acrobatic Theatre.
The Munsu Water Park, the People’s Open-Air Ice Rink and other cultural recreation centres were crowded with the working people full of delight and optimism.
Every family prepared ogokpap (boiled rice mixed with four other cereals), dishes of nine dried herbs and other folk dishes, and played janggi (Korean chess) and yut (four-stick game).
When the full moon rose in the evening, people enjoyed seeing the moon on Moran Hill and Ryongwang Pavilion, in Songhwa Street, Kyongru-dong and other parts of the capital city, and in the new farm villages and other places of the country.
