The following happened one May day in Juche 103 (2014) when the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the construction site of apartment houses for educators of Kim Chaek University of Technology.
Feasting his eyes on the imposing figures of the apartment houses, he said to the accompanying officials that more apartment houses should be built for 500 families of the educators and researchers of Kim Chaek University of Technology and that the area would be face-lifted if they were built along the Taedong River, starting from the apartment houses under construction. Underscoring the need to build the new houses well, he added that it would be good to call the area Mirae Scientists Street.
He went over hundreds of layouts of the street in order to provide the people with a civilized and happy life as early as possible and make sure that distinctive structures of the Korean style were built.
The day after learning about the construction by plane, he visited the construction site and gave instructions to expand the second-stage project, and dispatched competent construction workforce when it started. Under his leadership, Mirae Scientists Street was built on the picturesque bank of the Taedong River as a fairy street in the era of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
In August Juche 102 (2013), when he visited an area of apartment houses for scientists nearing completion, he expressed great satisfaction over the fact that they were provided with all conditions for the living of scientists, and named it Unha Scientists Street.
